Xavier Encinas

Searching through the triangle triangle for something that spoke out to me more than anything else was a difficult task because of the compelling work every photographer had. Out of the many great photographers, i did manage to stop at Xavier Encinas photograph of nature adapted and morphed to the side of a building wall. It was interesting because of my love for nature and adaptation and this picture truly surpassed my expectation in that area. It was very exciting to see such a piece because of its beautiful variety of plants, color which made you think of the years it must have taken to look like that. I look forward to seeing more of this work later as i grow further in photography

11/7 - Art 21 Blog

Weekly Roundup
http://blog.art21.org/2012/11/05/weekly-roundup-178/#more-72201

On Art 21's Blog, I found a very interesting video that caught my attention as i scrolled the page. The title of the article was Weekly Round Up and, while reading through the artist it named off, i played the video of Carie Mae Weem's "The Obama Project(2012)". It played  a slow series of different portraits of Obama's head to shoulders,  keeping his facial structure but mutating him or abstracting him in different ways. Weem's video is something unbelievably creative but also very symbolic, possible a sort of political view over Obama as the President. Now that the elections are over it might receive more attention from others and could also bring some controversy between Obama. I do not have a big political view but this surely catches my attention, especially just after the election, after Obama's victory.
